New York Jets Predicted To Have 1 Major Regret With Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets are entering the 2024 NFL season with big-time expectations. Aaron Rodgers will be back on the field and will look to lead the franchise back to the playoffs.

While he is receiving a ton of criticism once again due to skipping mandatory minicamp in order to attend another event, he is still very passionate about the team and is motivated to lead them to success.

Now, Rodgers is receiving more subtle criticism, this time in the form of a prediction that the Jets will regret the contract that they gave to the 40-year-old quarterback.

Bleacher Report analyst Brad Gagnon recently wrote about contracts around the league that will end up being regretted. Among names like Trevor Lawrence and Kirk Cousins, Rodgers was mentioned as well.

“[Rodgers] is old and might be washed up. An Achilles injury cost the 40-year-old almost all of 2023, but he wasn’t himself with Green Bay in 2022, either. Now, he appears to be causing drama once again. This is unlikely to end well for Gang Green.”

Shutting Down The New York Jets Narrative Of Regretting Aaron Rodgers

First and foremost, the story about Rodgers skipping New York Jets’ mandatory camp has been blown way out of proportion.

Is it OK for fans to be frustrated about his absence? Absolutely. What is not alright is creative narratives that don’t exist.

Robert Saleh and multiple New York Jets teammates have been vocal about their support of Rodgers. It has even been said that the team is “on the same page” as the 40-year-old superstar.

Before even seeing what Rodgers can do following his injury, predicting that the Jets will regret giving him the contract is a reach.

All it will take is Rodgers returning to 80-85 percent of his pre-injury form for him to be a superstar still. He is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play. The New York Jets are well aware of that.

New York went out and brought in a lot of talent in the offseason. The weapons Rodgers has to work with are elite. Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Mike Williams, Malachi Corley, and company are going to give him a great group to utilize.

There is nothing hold Rodgers back from playing like a superstar once again. At this point in time, there is no regret about the contract. It would take a very bad season for them to regret keeping a legendary quarterback in town for as long as they can.
