Quarterback for New York Jets Aaron Rodgers breaks the previous record in Week 17 after becoming the most sacked QB in NFL history by achieving a career 566 sacks, breaking Hall of Famer Tom Brady’s previous high. Rodgers broke Brady’s record of 565 sacks in the third quarter of the game, and there is a high probability that he will break his record again in the next match and set a new higher one against the Miami Dolphins.

Aaron Rodgers broke Tom Brady’s previous record of 565 sacks in his 23-year career when he became the NFL’s most-sacked quarterback in the third quarter of the New York Jets’ 40-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills. “I got Tom in that,” Rodgers said laughing.

Bills defensive end Gregory Rousseau sacked Rodgers for this historic occasion in his career, beating Brady for the most sacks allowed by a quarterback in official NFL records. Of course, Brady set his sacks record over the course of a 23-year career, while Rodgers has beaten it in 18.
Brady and Rodgers had numerous comparisons during their careers, where four MVP awards and seven Super Bowl titles went to the latter and various NFL records won by Brady, including his several MVP awards and a single Super Bowl title. But little has gone the Jets’ way.
When asked about his future with the Jets, particularly whether Johnson wanted him back in 2025, Rodgers responded with a quip, “You should ask Woody,” followed by an awkward silence in the room. Rodgers is less sure about his last year in the NFL. After the season, he stated that he would determine how much longer he has with the team.

Former Jets coach Eric Mangini claimed that Rodgers is actively attempting to be cut by team owner Woody Johnson during a recent show appearance. More rumors sprang from Rodgers’ comments during a December 24 press conference when he shared his injuries and the future of the rest of his season.
Johnson’s remark on Rodgers’ performance was significant, as rumors suggested he might consider benching him after the Jets’ Week 4 loss to the Broncos. Regardless of Rogers’ retention for 2025, he set an embarrassing record with the team.
