Week 2 is crucial for the New York Jets because it’s the second road game to start the NFL season before a string of four at home. If Aaron Rodgers can turn back the clock and guide the Jets to a victory, the chances for a strong start to the season are good.

The Titans outplayed the Bears in the opener, but fell 24-17. Head coach Brian Callahan was blunt in his criticism of QB Will Levis and his role in the loss in Chicago. But Levis will still have the responsibility of running the offense, for now.

That’s why the Jets have a good chance to topple the Titans in Nashville. Barring catastrophe, Rodgers is practically guaranteed to outshine Levis, but he will have to improve on his 167-yard performance in his first full game with the Jets. He rarely tossed the ball down the field outside the tackles. If the Jets are going to live up to the expectations some have placed on them, an answer needs to be found for the question: “Who will be Rodgers’ dependable go-to receiver?” They better figure that out, because the Jets have two games in five days starting Sunday.

No secret how Tennessee plans to move the ball. In Week 1, they ran 26 times for 140 yards (5.4 per carry average). That’s compared to 4.0 yards per pass attempt, an abysmal figure. Running back Tony Pollard is perhaps the most unheralded two-time 1,000-yard rusher in the league, and he’s expected to shoulder the load for Tennessee on the ground again.
