New York Knicks fans all in total agreement after OG Anunoby performance, first team in 35 years to put up unique numbers

The New York Knicks put in a statement win to blow the Denver Nuggets away, 145-118.

The Knicks high-scoring road game was underpinned by OG Anunoby producing a career-best night of 40 points.

And as relayed via Knicks PR via X, this was a franchise record setting night too, with the following numbers put up for the first time ever in the same game

This was the first time any franchise had put up these numbers in one game in 35 years, since the Portland Trail Blazers in 1988-89.

OG Anunoby impresses

OG Anunoby ended with a 40-5-4 stat line, while Nikola Jokic could only manage 22 points for the Nuggets

This was Anunoby’s best game on the Knicks, and fans were blown away by his performance.

One supporter wrote: “We’re not just talking OG Anunoby as an All-Star if this keeps up. We’re talking All-NBA.”

Another added: “The OG Anunoby trade was legitimately a heist for the Knicks. This guy is so good.”

“OG Anunoby is a perfect basketball player,” one added, with another posting: “Give OG Anunoby a RAISE!!!”

A fifth wrote: “OG Anunoby shouldn’t just be an All Star, he should be a borderline shoe in.”

“Where are all the Sixers fans from the summer that said Paul George was better than OG Anunoby?”, another asked.

“OG Anunoby has been unbelievable in the dunker role for this Knicks offense. Not to mention he’s one of the best defensive players in the game,” one more added.

OG Anunoby numbers in 2024-25

OG Anunoby’s previous points high this season had been his 27 points in the surprise loss to Utah Jazz.

Against the Nuggets he went 16-23 from the field, 5-7 from three points and 3-3 from free throws.

This big performance has dragged his average scoring up to 19.1 ppg this season.

Anunoby was traded to the Knicks last December as part of a deal that sent RJ Barrett to Toronto, and the trade has worked out well for New York.

The Knicks are back in action again on Wednesday, taking on the Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets on the road, before hosting the Pelicans on Sunday.
