New York Knicks have nailed all three trades, front-office deserve serious credit

The New York Knicks appear to be getting it right on and off the court right now, something which fans haven’t seen for some time.

Their recent 119-103 win over the Utah Jazz took them to nine games unbeaten and they now have an impressive 24-10 record.

Despite their current success Jeff Teague has warned that the side needs strengthening in one area if they are to compete during the playoffs.

That being said Karl-Anthony Towns is on a one-man mission to league domination and Kendrick Perkins has explained how the Knicks have ‘unlocked’ a new version of their star.

The trade deal for Towns is just one of the recent success stories when it comes to bringing in top talent to the franchise.

Karl-Anthony Towns

Surprisingly and perhaps somewhat regrettably the Minnesota Timberwolves traded Towns to the New York Knicks in October 2024 in a three-way trade which also included the Charlotte Hornets.

The Knicks did have to give up a lot for Towns including Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. However, it appears to be worth it given KAT’s displays so far.

Towns is averaging 24.9 points, 13.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists and he recently managed what no New York Knicks player has done since 1978.

Towns is well on the way to becoming a potential MVP winner and he has certainly taken the Knicks to another dimension.

OG Anunoby

Another top trade saw OG Anunoby join from the Toronto Raptors in December 2023, the deal involved several players but RJ Barrett was the most noticeable exit from the Knicks.

Anunoby is having one of his strongest scoring seasons and is providing an impact on both ends of the court.

The 27-year-old is certainly impressing Knicks fans and has been suggested for an All-Star spot following his 40-point display against the Denver Nuggets.

It cannot be denied that Barrett is having a strong personal season with the Raptors but their record speaks for itself, they sit 13th in the Eastern Conference with an 8-26 record.

Anunoby is averaging 16.5 points, five rebounds and 1.9 assists this season. His efforts are valued by both fans and teammates.

Mikal Bridges

The third success story from the Knicks trade deals saw the arrival of Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets in the summer of 2024.

The Knicks gave up Bojan Bogdanovic and Shake Milton who recently joined the LA Lakers. The trade was the first between the two sides since 1983.

While Bridges’ numbers this season are yet to quite reach his highs of Brooklyn he is still bedding in with his new franchise and recently recorded a record not even Michael Jordan or LeBron James have managed.

28-year-old Bridges has had raving reviews from his new teammates and the Knicks starting lineup is certainly the strongest it has been for some time.

Bridges is averaging 18.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in his debut season with the Knicks.

All three stars will be looking to continue their impact on the Knicks and help the team continue their impressive run of form when they face the high-flying Oklahoma City Thunder next time out.
