The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians in five games to win the American League pennant, securing a spot in the World Series for the first time since 2009. They’ll face the Los Angeles Dodgers, who won the NLCS against the New York Mets in six games. The Yankees-Dodgers rivalry is a storied one in the MLB; the teams have previously met eleven times at the World Series, though they haven’t met for the Fall Classic since 1981 when the Dodgers won in six games. This year’s World Series begins on Friday, Oct. 25 and every game will air on Fox.
