NFL analyst predicts massive rookie season for Giants WR Malik Nabers | Sporting News

The New York Giants are hoping the arrival of wide receiver Malik Nabers will give a jolt to the offense that has been missing for some time.

Using the No. 6 pick on the talented LSU product, Nabers walks into the WR1 role before the season even starts. That type of volume will certainly lead to production.

In fact, Mike Clay of ESPN dished out his projections for the 2024 season, and Nabers came out with a massive rookie campaign.

In his projections for nearly every player for every team, Clay gave Nabers a strong line of 78 receptions for 1,033 yards and five touchdowns.

Both of those reception and yards totals ranked second among rookies behind only Marvin Harrison Jr. of the Arizona Cardinals.

The Giants haven’t had a 1,000-yard receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. did it in 2018. Beckham Jr. is also the last Giants rookie receiver to reach that mark when he did it in 2014.

Since 2011, there have been 14 wide receivers to reach 1,000 yards in their rookie seasons—about one per year. Clay projects both Harrison Jr. and Nabers to achieve that feat.

The Giants offense has plenty of question marks, but Nabers could be in for a big rookie season.
