NFL exec gushes in rave review of New York Giants’ Andrew Thomas | Sporting News

There are many concerns revolving around the New York Giants offensive line, but Andrew Thomas is hardly one of them.

Though he dealt with some injuries last season, Thomas has proven he’s capable of playing at an elite level among the NFL’s best offensive tackles.

In ESPN’s positional rankings, Thomas came in at No. 8 among all offensive tackles, but one NFL executive gushed over his upside to be the best in the league.

“Trent Williams has been the standard, but I think Thomas, if he puts together a stronger body of work, has enough upside to be the top guy,” an AFC executive told ESPN.

At least one NFL executive, scout or coach ranked Thomas as the best offensive tackle in the league, according to ESPN’s survey.

The No. 4 overall pick from the 2020 NFL draft is one of the main keys for the Giants. While they need some unsung heroes to step up, they also need their studs to return to form after a down season.

Thomas is capable of anchoring the left side of the line on an island by himself. It should help to have veteran Jermaine Eluemunor next to him at left guard, though the latter’s true position comes at right tackle.

If the Giants can get elite production out of Thomas once again, there will be fewer concerns about the offense’s chances to bounce back.
