NFL picks, predictions for Week 14: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns | Sporting News
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns will do battle for the second and final time this season in Week 14 when they meet at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The last time these two teams met was in Week 12, when the Browns pulled off an upset over the Steelers in the midst of a snowstorm at Huntington Bank Field. This time around, rain is in the forecast in Pittsburgh, so that will be something to monitor.
The Steelers bounced back in a big way off their loss to the Browns, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in an offensive explosion, 44-38. Meanwhile, the Browns saw their own offensive explosion but were outdone by the Denver Broncos, who defeated Cleveland, 41-32.
Pittsburgh is sitting comfortably in first place in the AFC North after the Baltimore Ravens lost to the Philadelphia Eagles last week. And, with the Ravens on a bye, the Steelers can pad their lead further with a win.
Will the Steelers get revenge on the Browns after losing the last matchup? Or will Cleveland get the better of Pittsburgh once again? Let’s find out what experts are thinking.
NFL picks, predictions Week 14: Steelers vs. Browns
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Steelers 24, Browns 10
Iyer: “The Steelers will need to get that frustrating losing trip to Cleveland out of their heads after taking care of the Ravens and Bengals in key spots. The Browns’ defense won’t be as jacked during the day on the road, while Russell Wilson will stay on a heater against a defense that gives up a lot of field-stretching pass plays.”
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Steelers 28, Browns 16
Bender: “Cleveland beat Pittsburgh 24-19 on Thursday Night Football in a snow-bound Week 12 matchup. The return favor will be much more difficult for Jameis Winston, and we’ll all continue to enjoy the continued DPOY debate between Pittsburgh edge rusher T.J. Watt and Cleveland’s Myles Garrett. Pittsburgh will take control of this game in the second half, continuing a trend of winning the past three home meetings against the Browns by an average of 10 points per game.”
Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Steelers 27, Browns 15
Cluff: “Remember how the Steelers lost to the Browns in Week 12 in Cleveland? We’re sure Russell Wilson does. He’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again in Pittsburgh.”
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Steelers 23, Browns 21
Prisco: “Jameis Winston is playing good football — aside from the pick-sixes he’s throwing. The Browns have come to life with him at quarterback. They beat the Steelers two weeks ago in the snow, but this time will be much tougher. Russell Wilson is playing better. The Steelers win it, but it’s close.”
