NFL picks, score predictions Week 15: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets | Sporting News

The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-11) won for the first time since Week 7 in London on Sunday, and they figure to be competitive in more games down the stretch as they finally hit the softest portion of their 2024 schedule.

The Jags will host Aaron Rodgers and the scuffling New York Jets this Sunday (1 p.m. EST, FOX) in a matchup of teams currently projected for a top-7 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Jacksonville is coming off a grind-it-out, 10-6 win over division rival Tennessee last week, leaning on a defense that held quarterback Will Levis and the Titans out of the end zone.

The Jets (3-10), meanwhile, blew a 23-15 lead in the fourth quarter, ultimately falling to the Miami Dolphins, 32-26, in overtime. The Jets have lost four straight and nine of their last 10 as their experiment with the 41-year-old Rodgers appears to be nearing its end

Can the Jaguars, who continue to play with Mac Jones under center with  starter Trevor Lawrence on injured reserve, win back-to-back games for the first time since November of 2023? Or will the Jets prevail at EverBank Stadium for just their second road win of 2024?

Here’s what NFL experts are saying about Sunday’s matchup, with score predictions:

NFL picks, predictions Week 14: Jaguars vs. Jets

Iyer: “The Jets got some offensive inspiration with Aaron Rodgers having his best game for New York, finally figuring out how to feed both Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson well. The Jaguars cannot cover either savvy big-play wideout. On the flip side, Mac Jones will struggle to move the ball to answer with high volume.”

Bender: “This could be the ugliest game of the week between teams already looking to next year. The Jaguars will stick with a high-percentage passing game to avoid turnovers from Mac Jones. Aaron Rodgers has five TDs and one interception in his past three games. We trust him a little more in this matchup. New York wins a defensive struggle on the road.”

Cluff: “The Jets have the Rams, Bills and Dolphins up next after this game against the Jaguars. They better end their 4-game skid against Jacksonville or they might not win another game this season.”

Johnson: “Aaron Rodgers delivered his first 300-yard game since 2021 this past Sunday and now he gets to face one of the worst defenses in football. The New York Jets shouldn’t have much trouble forcing Mac Jones into mistakes, it comes naturally for him, providing this Jets’ offense with more scoring opportunities. While New York is already eliminated from playoff contention and a win will only hurt its draft positioning, it’s very difficult to out-tank the Jaguars.”

Rolfe: “We’ve seen some signs of life from Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets offense in recent weeks. In their last three games, they are averaging 24.7 points per game. Unfortunately, they’ve been let down by a defense that has allowed 28.7 points per game in the same span. Still, they should be too much for a Mac Jones-led Jacksonville Jaguars team that has the highest score of 10 points in games he has started. The problem with the Jets, however, is that now that they’ve been eliminated from playoff contention, we have no idea what to expect from them in a meaningless Week 15 game for their veterans.”

Consensus: Jets 22, Jaguars 17
