NFL power rankings Week 14: Giants officially enter offseason mode | Sporting News

The New York Giants (2-10) have little to look forward to with an entire month of football remaining in the 2024 season.

While the scoreboard will show a result that ended in a one-score difference during the 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys (5-7) on Thanksgiving, what transpired on the field was another disappointing effort.

Losers of seven in a row, the Giants have been officially eliminated from playoff contention with five games remaining. They enter Week 14 holding the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft where many believe a new quarterback will be on the way.

Even with all the issues the Giants have had under center, the problems go far beyond the quarterback position. The roster lacks competitive depth, and they are no closer to fixing the same issues that plagued the organization when Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll arrived in 2022.

It’s no surprise where they ended up in the power rankings.

NFL power rankings Week 14

As the Giants finish out the season simply as a formality, they officially hold the lowest spot in the NFL power rankings entering Week 14, according to Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News.

32. New York Giants 2-10 (31)

“The Giants dug deeper at quarterback with the same low-upside, high-mistake results when Drew Lock needed to start for lame-duck coach Brian Daboll,” Iyer wrote.

With Daniel Jones off the roster and now working with Kevin O’Connell and the Minnesota Vikings, the Giants are moving forward with Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock.

Meanwhile, Dexter Lawrence (elbow) and Theo Johnson (foot) were placed on the season-ending Reserve/Injured list, putting a cap on what has been another disastrous campaign.

Giants fans have little to look forward to over the next month before the sweet release of the offseason arrives, and it’s unlikely the team will move from this bottom spot before it comes.
