NYC civil service exam: Here are the salaries for positions open in November
The New York City civil service exam schedule is open for November, and some jobs pay more than others.
The application period for exams opened Nov. 6.
Exam applications currently open include: benefits opportunity specialist; caseworker; computer operations manager; construction project manager; eligibility specialist; forester; plumber‘s helper; plumber’s helper (CUNY); police communications technician; public health epidemiologist.
Open, competitive, computer-based tests are administered throughout each month for various positions. If you meet the basic requirements of the job, you can apply for your exam online at Online Application System (OASys) or at one of the Computer-Based Testing and Application Centers (CTAC).
Most exams have a deadline of Nov. 26.
The application remains open for call center representative, emergency medical specialist-EMT (fire) and emergency medical specialist trainee through Nov. 26.
Applications for for public safety exam level I are available until Nov. 29. Jobs in the public safety exam level I include: sanitation enforcement agent; school safety agent; special officer; traffic enforcement agent.
The deadline to apply for police communications technician is Sept. 28, 2025.

Sanitation enforcement agent

School safety agent
