Oscar de la Renta to open pop-up shop in Highland Park Village, its first in Texas

Highland Park Village is expecting a new resident — and one well-acquainted with the world of high fashion.

A pop-up shop from New York-based luxury brand Oscar de la Renta will join the upscale outdoor shopping center in North Dallas this fall, becoming the company’s first and only retail location in Texas.

Alongside American fashion brand KHAITE and French brand Chloe which will also join this fall, Oscar de la Renta is the latest addition to a property already flush with luxury brands like Chanel, Rolex and Cartier.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Oscar de la Renta to Highland Park Village this fall,” Stephen Summers, one of the owners of Highland Park Village, said in a press release. “This esteemed, quintessential brand is the perfect fit for our customer, a fashion house that sets the standard for elegant and elevated dressing. Oscar de la Renta is a great addition to the collection of world-class brands we have at the Village.”

Opening a pop-up shop removes some of the jeopardy of breaking into a new market, allowing Oscar de la Renta to sample the metaphorical ice cream before committing to a sundae. Highland Park Village has been no stranger to pop-up shops, recently welcoming Agua by Agua Bendita, Teressa Foglia and Reformation to the complex, as well as numerous other stores in past years.

Highland Park Village presents an appealing opportunity for Oscar de la Renta to expand into one of the country’s wealthiest neighborhoods. The brand has been selective with storefronts and only operates three other locations in the United States, with one in New York City and two in Southern California, though its products also sell at retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue and Dallas-based department store Neiman Marcus. The company has one dedicated location in London and another in Paris.

“Having admired the unique shopping destination at Highland Park Village for many years, we eagerly anticipate the opening of our pop-up — and hope this marks the beginning of a long relationship with the Highland Park Village community,” Alex Bolen, CEO of Oscar de la Renta, said in the press release.

Oscar de la Renta is best known for its women’s fashion, accessories, handbags and bridalwear, each of which will be highlighted at its Highland Park Village showroom at different points throughout its life cycle. Prices for women’s clothing typically sit around the $2,000 mark, with bridal gowns and some accessories hitting $3,000 or more.

Oscar de la Renta’s Highland Park Village location will sit on the Preston Road side of the property, bordering KHAITE and Chanel.
