Barron Trump at a New York college, not UPenn or Georgetown, breaking family tradition

Barron Trump is leaving Florida for New York.

Barron Trump, the sole child of Donald and Melania Trump, picked a college in New York and starts fall 2024 classes soon, Donald Trump confirmed in an Aug. 20 New York Post story: “He’s all set in a certain school that’s very good,” the former president told the New York Post in an exclusive interview. “He’s always been a very good student, he’s smart.”

While neither of his parents have announced which New York university Barron Trump might be getting his college degree, Donald Trump said his team would release the news “soon,” according to the Post.

The 6-foot-7 (or in some reports 6-foot-9) son of former president Donald Trump has been keeping a really low-profile: Barron Trump was the only Trump family member who did not make an appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July. His half-niece, 17-year-old Kai Trump, who’s a year younger than him, did appear at the RNC and has (publicly) announced her college choice: the University of Miami, not far from where she goes to high school now.

Bottlenecked: Palm Beach County road projects lag behind massive population growth

The hordes of people who migrated to Palm Beach County since the pandemic — many from the congested Northeast — may feel like they’ve reached paradise. But they could soon find they can’t avoid traffic issues, especially in high-impact corridors.

But what’s different about this migration of new residents (and vehicles) is an abundance of wealth. The more affluent transplants could well alter the financing of transportation as well as the infrastructure itself.

The boom in property values, which will generate more tax revenue for local governments, theoretically could spin off cash for improvements like synchronized lights. Deeper-pocketed commuters could be less stressed on the highways if they access the new tolled express lanes.

DEP confirms obscure foundation is dropping plans for golf courses at Jonathan Dickinson

A mysterious foundation called Tuskegee Dunes, whose Florida lobbyists include a former secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, says it is behind the controversial proposed golf courses at Jonathan Dickinson State Park — and that it is now pulling the plug on the plan.

A spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection confirmed late Sunday that the foundation withdrew its application for the golf course proposal.

The Delaware-registered foundation said in a statement sent to The Palm Beach Post late Friday that the golf courses and other facilities would have told the “inspirational story of the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American military pilots and airmen who fought in World War II.”
