Panthers to face off with Brian Burns, NY Giants in Germany

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The Carolina Panthers‘ opponent for their upcoming game in Germany has been revealed, with a familiar face on the opposite sideline.

It was announced Wednesday morning that the Panthers will face off with the New York Giants in Week 10, taking on Brian Burns for the first time since he was traded in March.

The game will be played on Nov. 10 at Allianz Arena in Munich, as part of the NFL’s annual International Games aimed at increasing its presence worldwide. Other teams playing abroad in 2024 include the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars. Each of those teams will host a game in London.

The Carolina-New York matchup is scheduled to kick off at 9:30 a.m. and will be broadcast on NFL Network.

“It’s an honor for the Carolina Panthers to play in Munich in 2024,” Panthers owner David Tepper said in January. “This game represents more than playing internationally for us. With more than 200 German-owned companies in the Charlotte area, this opportunity offers a special connection for the Panthers and our community.”

The Panthers’ first and only other internationally played game came in 2019 when they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London, 37-26. Former Panther Christian McCaffrey scored two touchdowns in that game.

The remainder of Carolina’s 2024 schedule will be released Wednesday at 8 p.m. Following the release, WBTV will have a special edition of The Point After, beginning at 9 p.m. The show can be watched on the WBTV News app, Facebook or any WBTV streaming platform.
