Phil Simms makes shock move to rival network from CBS for NFL preseason games
WITH the new NFL season fast approaching, we’ll soon be listening to those familiar voices on their usual networks.
NFL fans can sometimes be given a preseason surprise however, and that’s certainly been the case with a move for Phil Simms.
Simms was let go by CBS in the spring after more than a quarter of a century there.
Now the former New York Giants star will be on the call for two preseason games for the team.
Simms will be in the broadcast booth alongside Bob Papa and Carl Banks on FOX 5 NY.
They will call games against the Detroit Lions on Thursday and the Houston Texans next week.
Fans have been quick to have their say on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.
“That’s hyped!” one fan said.
“Welcome back,” another fan said.
“Very good voice, this is a nice move,” a third fan said.
