Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks predictions, preview, and betting tips – 13/11/2024
There are many exciting matchups this evening in the NBA and one of the more interesting ones is a duel between Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, 00:30 AM BST.
In this article, I will select a few of my favourite Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks predictions, which also includes a complete 76ers vs Knicks preview containing team form, injuries and other news, as well as the latest 76ers vs Knicks odds.
So, let’s take a closer look at this game and what we can expect from it.
Thunder vs Warriors predictions
To record a double-double
All odds for my 76ers vs Knicks picks were taken from Paddy Power and are subject to change at any time.
Philadelphia 76ers to win
There is little doubt in my mind that this will be a close contest and while the 76ers will once again be without Tyrese Maxey, they will welcome back Joel Embiid. I feel that this can give the 76ers a boost in confidence, along with them beating Charlotte in their last game after an exciting overtime battle.
Meanwhile, the Knicks enter this game with a better record, but they’ve lost three games in a row when playing away from home and overall haven’t been consistent this season. Backed by their fans, I think that Philadelphia can win this game, which is the first of my 76ers vs Knicks tips.
Under 211.5 total points
In theory, this is a duel between two good defensive teams, although this season neither of them have particularly impressed in this area. Still, I expect a hard-fought game, which is something we’ve used to seeing when these two teams meet.
After all, six of the last nine duels between the 76ers and New York have gone under 211.5 total points and with Philadelphia missing their second-best scorer Maxey, I don’t expect many points in this game. So, under 211.5 total points is my second Thunder vs Warriors prediction.
Karl-Anthony Towns to record a double-double
The final of my 76ers vs Knicks picks is for Karl-Anthony Towns to record a double-double. With both Mitchell and Achiuwa out with injuries, Towns has to play at the centre position for the Knicks all the time, which wouldn’t be the case if one of those two is healthy.
This is one of the reasons why Towns has recorded a double-double in seven of nine games that the Knicks have played this season, while averaging 24.9 ppg and 12.3 rpg. In fact, 12.3 rebounds per game is the fifth-best average in the league right now.
76ers vs Knicks preview – teams news, injuries, and predicted lineups
Philadelphia 76ers preview and latest news
After losing seven of their first eight games, the 76ers managed to scrape a win in overtime against the Hornets a couple of nights ago and while they remain shorthanded with Tyrese Maxey injured, the Sixers can be more optimistic now with Joel Embiid ready to make his debut this season.
Furthermore, Maxey is the only player on the team’s injury list heading into their next game, so that’s another positive for Philadelphia.
The 76ers enter this match with a 2-7 record.
76ers starting lineup: Lowry, Oubre, George, Martin Jr, Embiid
New York Knicks preview and latest news
While the Knicks have entered this season with high expectations after their big summer moves, they have been hot and cold so far, unable to find consistent form. Granted, missing a couple of centres is tough to overcome and the Knicks have a lot of new players that need time to gel properly. Still, four wins in nine games is far from what this team is capable of.
New York Knicks remain without Mitchell Robinson and Precious Achiuwa, so their frontcourt is still very thin. Kevin McCullar Jr. is also out, while Miles McBride and Cameron Payne are listed as game-time decisions.
The Knicks enter this match with a 4-5 record.
Knicks starting lineup: Brunson, Hart, Bridges, Anunoby, Towns
