Florida airports continue to announce closures and flight cancelations ahead of Hurricane Milton, now a powerful storm in the Gulf of Mexico.
Airports along the East Coast are also experiencing delays and cancellations, such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Newark, Baltimore, LaGuardia and Philadelphia, according to FlightAware. All travelers should check on their flight statuses before heading to airports.
While many of the Florida airports have already shut down or announced they’d be shutting down soon, some are still open and operating, including the major airports in Miami, Fort Lauderadale and Jacksonville. However, FlightAware is already showing a very large number of cancellations and delays at those that are open, such as Miami International Airport.
All flights scheduled to go into and out of Florida are on alert and passengers are urged to check their flights as ahead of time for updates as the storm approaches and weather conditions change.
