Police search for suspects in attempted robbery at Bronx business
BRONX, N.Y. — Authorities are seeking two individuals involved in an attempted robbery at a commercial establishment on Webster Avenue in the early hours of Monday, August 19, 2024.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m. at 1170 Webster Avenue. According to the police, two unidentified suspects entered the business, displayed a knife, and demanded property. When their attempt was unsuccessful, they fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on Park Avenue.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
The first suspect is described as a male with a heavy build and dark complexion, last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as a male with a slim build and dark complexion, last seen wearing a black t-shirt.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to contact them as the investigation continues.
- Elderly man arrested for indecent exposure in Sewickley
SEWICKLEY, Pa. — An 82-year-old man has been arrested following an incident on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, where he was accused of exposing himself near the intersection of Beaver and Chestnut Streets, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.
A witness reported seeing an elderly male, later identified as David Whitten of Franklin Park, Pa., touching and exposing himself in public. Whitten fled the area before Sewickley Police officers arrived, and was last seen walking towards Broad Street.
On Friday, September 13, Whitten was identified, and the Sewickley Police Department requested assistance from the Allegheny County Police General Investigations Unit. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Whitten, charging him with corruption of minors, two counts of indecent exposure, and open lewdness.
Whitten was arrested later that evening by Allegheny County Police and Sewickley Police. He is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
- Police seek suspects in grand larceny targeting elderly woman in the Bronx
BRONX, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects involved in a grand larceny incident in the Bronx on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
At approximately 9:10 p.m., a 76-year-old woman was walking near Walton Avenue and East 174th Street when she was approached by three unidentified males riding two mopeds. The suspects forcibly snatched the victim’s purse from her shoulder before fleeing southbound on Walton Avenue to an unknown location.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Police are asking anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspects to contact them as the investigation continues.
- Police seek suspect in grand larceny case in Central Park
NEW YORK, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a grand larceny that took place in Central Park on August 24, 2024.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., a 23-year-old woman placed her purse on the grass near 67 West Drive. According to police, an unidentified individual stole the purse, which contained several credit cards, and subsequently made fraudulent purchases. The suspect then fled the area on foot to an unknown location.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Authorities are requesting anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the individual to contact the NYPD. The investigation remains ongoing.
