Presser Points: QB Tommy DeVito to start if Drew Lock (heel) can’t play
📰 Quarterback Drew Lock “is not doing great” with a heel injury that requires him to wear a boot. “I can’t tell you if he’d be ready to go right now, so Tommy [DeVito] will get all the reps.”
📰 Daboll “can’t see” Lock practicing tomorrow either. They’ll find out Friday if he can be the No. 2 or even the emergency No. 3 quarterback.
📰 WR Malik Nabers will “do some stuff” today, so “hopefully he’ll just keep progressing.” The sixth overall pick suffered a hip flexor injury in practice last week.
📰 Cornerback Dru Phillips will not practice today. The rookie did not play last week due to a shoulder injury.
📰 Cornerback Cor’Dale Flott, who was a Saturday addition to the injury report with quad and knee issues, will practice in some capacity. Deonte Banks, another cornerback who missed last week with a rib injury, is “making progress.”
📰 Linebacker Bobby Okereke will not practice. The captain missed Sunday’s game with a back injury after not practicing all week.
📰 Left guard Jon Runyan suffered an ankle injury against the Saints and will not practice. “I don’t think he’ll make this week.”
📰 Safety Tyler Nubin (ankle) and right tackle Evan Neal (right ankle) also will not practice.
📰 Defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches is “getting better” but he still won’t practice.
📰 Tackles Chris Hubbard (knee) and Jermaine Eluemunor (quad) will practice in some capacity today. Eluemunor has made “good progress.” Daboll is “more optimistic” about Eluemunor and they’ll see about Hubbard.
📰 Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson is “one of the best players, not just best quarterbacks, best players, in the National Football League. He’s dynamic in every facet of the game.”
📰 Jackson is “really a fun player to watch, not when you’re getting ready to play him.” There is “nothing easy” about facing him, especially with a “great surrounding cast.”
