Protective Horse Trainer and Jockey

Hall-of-Fame trainer Todd Pletcher has won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Trainer 8 times, including in 2022. He has won the Belmont Stakes 4 times already, and the Kentucky Derby twice (Always Dreaming in 2017 and Super Saver in 2010).

Todd Pletcher is the trainer for two other horses in this race: Antiquarian and Mindframe.

Jockey Tyler Gaffalione came in second this year at the Kentucky Derby while riding Sierra Leone. He also won the Preakness Stakes in 2019 with War of Will.
