Q&A: National Grid New York President Rudy Wynter

A top New York utility executive says the state is on the right trajectory to reduce emissions, even as growing demand for electricity raises concerns.

Rudy Wynter, the president of National Grid New York, is leaving the company after more than three decades. He’s helmed the company’s New York businesses — upstate gas and electric and downstate gas customers — for three years.

Sally Librera, currently a senior vice president at AECOM, will take over the role.

Wynter touted the utility’s recent and ongoing investments in its electric network, including plans to spend on upstate transmission projects. He said the company has been hooking up community solar and invested in an innovative transmission technology project.
