Robert Saleh bracing for ‘long day’ with Jets in Florham Park | Sporting News
The New York Jets held a non-padded practice on Friday but will turn up the intensity on Saturday.
For what will be Practice No. 9 since training camp kicked off, the Jets will participate in a Green & White Day program.
“It’s going to be a little bit different in a sense. It’s going to kind of be a mock game, so you’ll see kickoff, series, ones versus ones, twos versus twos and playing two halves of football. It’s going to be a really long day tomorrow,” said fourth-year head coach Robert Saleh.
It’ll be the fourth time in training camp that the Jets practice in front of a packed grandstand holding ticketed spectators. In addition, an NFL officiating crew will be present.
“They’ll be here tomorrow. The NFL guys will be here tomorrow,” said Saleh.
It also seems as if New York all five first-team offensive linemen will be able to practice together on Saturday. Right tackle Morgan Moses joined team drills for the first time this summer on Friday.
Over the past two practices, the Aaron Rodgers to Garrett Wilson connection has been humming as has the Jets red-zone offense.
“Again, efficiency in the red zone from the offense,” said Saleh approvingly after Friday’s practice.
Earlier in the week, Rodgers provided an offensive assessment while addressing reporters.
“I think we’re trending, definitely trending in a better direction, than maybe this time in camp last year,” said Rodgers.
New York’s Green & White Practice is slated to begin at 10:15 am ET on August 3 in Florham Park.
