Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid expressed satisfaction with the pitch conditions at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

This venue is set to host India’s three crucial group-stage matches in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Their positive initial impressions during their first visit suggest favourable conditions for batters, despite concerns over the stadium’s drop-in pitches.

The use of drop-in pitches had sparked some worries about their behavior, especially after incidents of low bounce during spinner Kuldeep Yadav’s deliveries in a practice session at Cantiague Park.

Nevertheless, the captain and coach are confident about the playing conditions after their inspection.

In preparation for the tournament, the Indian team engaged in a thorough net session at Cantiague Park, which proceeded despite recent rains.

Adding to the team’s developments, star batter Virat Kohli is slated to arrive in New York on Friday. Kohli, having departed from Mumbai on Thursday, is expected to join the team in time for their warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1.

As the Indian team gears up for their only warm-up game, they have an optional training session scheduled on Friday morning, ensuring all players are well-prepared and acclimatized to the local conditions.
