Sachin Tendulkar will likely visit New York to witness India’s high-stakes 2024 T20 World Cup showdown against perennial arch-rivals Pakistan. The much-awaited contest, set to be played on June 9, will be hosted by the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Tendulkar also attended India’s 2023 World Cup final clash against eventual winners Australia at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium last November.

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will likely grace New York’s Nassau County Stadium on June 9 with his presence for India’s T20 World Cup 2024 match against Pakistan, according to a report from PTI.

According to a source close to the ICC, Tendulkar is associated with one of the key sponsors of the tournament.

“Yes, if all goes well, Sachin Tendulkar will be watching the match in New York and cheering the Indian team. “It is still not known if he would meet the players prior to the game or not but his mere presence in the stands will certainly be a morale booster for Rohit Sharma and his men in what will be the most important group league assignment,” the source stated.

Sachin Tendulkar also attended numerous matches of the 2015 and 2023 World Cups, albeit as ICC’s brand ambassadors of the competition.

The former Indian cricketer played the last of his 664 international matches back in 2013, and retired as one of the greatest batters to have ever graced the game.

While Sachin Tendulkar is poised to make an appearance in the stands for the India vs Pakistan game, the ‘Men in Blue’ will initially face Ireland in New York on June 5.

Captain Rohit Sharma, along with several other players like Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal have already reached USA and are gearing up to face Bangladesh in their lone warm-up match on June 1.
