Saquon Barkley stats vs. Giants: Eagles star dominates New York in revenge game blowout win | Sporting News United Kingdom

Sunday was a big game for the Eagles, as it marked the first time that Saquon Barkley returned to MetLife Stadium as an opponent. Amidst boos and burned jerseys, Barkley shined for the Eagles, leading Philadelphia to a huge 28-3 win over their division rivals.

The Eagles improve to 4-2 on the season with the win, tying the Commanders for the division lead. New York, meanwhile, drops to 2-5 and falls further into last place.

Along the way, Barkley had his finest performance in an Eagles uniform. We break down the “revenge-game” performance.

Saquon Barkley stats vs. Giants

Barkley totaled 17 carries for 176 yards and a touchdown on the day, which is the second-most rushing yards he’s ever produced in one game. Not only that, but Barkley’s 176 yards are also the second-most ever for a player vs. his former team, only trailing Cedric Benson against the Bears.

The performance included a 55-yard run and a 41-yard run, and his 10.3 yards per attempt is the third-most he’s ever totaled in one game. He also added two catches for 11 yards in the game.

With the Eagles up big, Philadelphia sat Barkley for the entire fourth quarter, so the running back could have had an even bigger game.

After the game, Barkley tried to keep a business-like approach, but he did admit to trash-talking more than usual. However, the magnitude of the game clearly weighed on him.

“To be honest, I’m happy this game is over,” he said, via EJ Smith.

Barkley’s huge performance helped the running back temporarily collect the second-most rushing yards in the league this season, just behind Ravens running back Derrick Henry. San Francisco RB Jordan Mason, who plays the Chiefs in the afternoon window, can retake that spot with 49 rushing yards.

If Barkley keeps up this pace, he will break his previous career high of 1,312 rushing yards.
