The launch of inaugural flights from Toronto (Canada) and Boston (USA) to Funchal, Madeira Island, has kicked off the 2024 summer travel season with a flourish. These new routes are set to enhance the accessibility of this stunning island destination. SATA Group is among the airlines contributing to this increased accessibility, providing travelers with more options to reach Madeira Island.
In addition to these direct connections, travelers can now enjoy more convenient routes via Ponta Delgada. Moreover, a direct weekly flight between New York and Funchal is already in operation, providing an array of options for visitors eager to explore Madeira’s unique charms.
This expanded network of flights is expected to bolster tourism, making it easier for North American travelers to discover the breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality of Madeira Island.
Graça Silva, Director of Sales, Marketing and Communication at SATA Group said, “These two direct operations represent the conclusion of consistent work with our partners in the United States, Canada and the Madeira Archipelago, which have allowed us to expand the offer to this Archipelago with these direct flights, in addition to the New York operation and flights between the Azores to Madeira Island that Azores Airlines has ensured over the years”.
The weekly direct flight between Canada and the Madeira Archipelago operates with departures from Madeira Island on Fridays and return flights from Toronto on Saturdays. In the case of the direct flight between Boston and Funchal, it departs from Boston on Tuesdays and returns from Funchal on Wednesdays. Additionally, there are seven weekly connections from Boston to Toronto via Ponta Delgada, providing passengers traveling between North America and Madeira Island with more options. Travelers can book these flights through SATA Azores Airlines’ channels, including their website, counters, sales stores, and travel agencies.
