Shoplifting Turns Violent in Bronx Store

Bronx, NY – On Sunday, July 14, at approximately 6:20 PM, an unidentified female was reported to have attempted to shoplift several items from a commercial establishment at 243 East 198 Street. The suspect concealed the items in a shopping cart and attempted to leave the store without paying.

A 46-year-old male employee confronted the suspect, who then struck him in the head with the merchandise and attacked him in the back with an unknown sharp object. The assailant fled the scene, and her whereabouts are currently unknown.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene. Police are investigating the incident.

  • NYPD Seeks Public’s Help in Locating Missing Brooklyn Man

    Brooklyn, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Victor Calderon Castillo, a 44-year-old Hispanic male residing on Gates Avenue, within the confines of the 83 Precinct.

    Calderon Castillo was last seen leaving his residence on Thursday, August 1, at approximately 11:55 AM. He is described as being approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, red shorts, and black sneakers.

    Anyone with information on Victor Calderon Castillo’s whereabouts is urged to contact the NYPD.

  • Investigation Launched into Vacant Structure Fire in Hurlock

    Hurlock, MD – A vacant structure fire at 4304 Russell Road in Dorchester County is under investigation following a blaze on Friday evening at 9:21 PM. The incident involved a one-story single wide trailer owned by Randy Hunt. No injuries or deaths were reported, but the fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damages.

    The Hurlock Volunteer Fire Department responded with 40 firefighters, managing to control the fire within one hour. The fire was discovered by a neighbor, but the area of origin and the cause remain undetermined.
