For the record, he is a cornerback the New York Giants signed to their practice squad last October. Could Thomas-Oliver be a surprise candidate for the 53-man roster?

Career to date

Thomas-Oliver was a seventh-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played in 25 games over three seasons in Carolina with no starts. Thomas-Oliver played only 94 defensive snaps during his time in Carolina, but did play 369 defensive snaps.

In 2023, Thomas-Oliver played 46 special teams snaps and did not play a single snap on defense before being waived by Carolina.

2024 outlook

It’s hard to see Thomas-Oliver making the roster. The Giants have too many young players they are invested in, and several veterans with deeper resumes.
