Staten Island University Hospital named one of the best hospitals in New York by U.S. News & World Report

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island University Hospital was recently named one of the best hospitals in New York by U.S. News & World Report.

The hospital was ranked 13th overall in the state, highlighting its commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services to the community.

The comprehensive list of top hospitals — which includes 466 nationwide — is derived from an analysis of approximately 4,500 hospitals across the United States.

The evaluation measures quality metrics across 35 medical specialties, procedures and conditions.

To compile the latest rankings, U.S. News assessed 205 hospitals in New York.

In addition to the prestigious ranking, Staten Island University Hospital has been recognized for excellence in several specific areas of medical care.

SIUH has been awarded high-performance status in the following six medical specialties: Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, and Pulmonology and Lung Surgery.

What’s more, SIUH earned high-performance ratings in 11 common procedures and conditions, highlighting its dedication to delivering superior patient care across a wide range of medical needs: Colon Cancer Surgery, Congestive Heart Failure, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Diabetes, Heart Attack, Heart Bypass Surgery, Hip Replacement, Kidney Failure, Lung Cancer Surgery, Pneumonia and Stroke.

U.S. News & World Report, headquartered in Washington, D.C., publishes annual rankings evaluating hospitals, pediatric hospitals, nursing homes and surgical centers. This year marks the 35th annual release of its best regional hospitals list.
