Sydney Sweeney Gives the Tennis-Core Trend an Equestrian Touch

With the premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers (and Zendaya’s earth-shifting press tour looks for the film), tennis-core been on the rise in the world of fashion—no huge surprise, given that pleated skirts and polo shirts are already go-tos for some of our favorite celebrities. Now Sydney Sweeney has embraced the sporty aesthetic, and decided to give it an equestrian spin this weekend in New York City.

To lighten up a cloudy Sunday in the city, the Immaculate actor wore an oatmeal-colored ensemble from the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Styled by Molly Dickson, the look included a beige polo top, which certainly screamed tennis prep; however, Sweeney layered the court-ready piece over a plaid button-up, which added a Little House on the Prairie twist to the fit.

Then, Sweeney added a tan micro miniskirt, which, despite being cinched with a black leather belt, still hung low enough to reveal chocolate Miu Miu briefs underneath—and if there’s one thing that’s in right now, it’s showing off your underwear (or just going completely pantsless).

To match the belt, the star slipped into a tall pair of black leather riding boots, which further sold the overall equestrian vibe of the look. Finally, Sweeney added her signature cool-girl touches with a pair of triangular shades and a white Jimmy Choo Cinch bag hanging off her shoulder. She also accessorized with a pair of dainty golden hoop earrings from Suzanne Kalan.
