The first batch of team India players, including captain Rohit Sharma, and head coach Rahul Dravid among others, touched down in New York. BCCI’s official social media handle shared a video of the same.
The likes of Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and the coaching staff boarded the flight to the West on Saturday. Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and traveling reserves Shubman Gill and Khaleel Ahmed reached today.

All teams featuring the players from India’s 15-man World Cup squad were knocked out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 before the final. As reported by CricketNext, Virat Kohli has yet to take the flight to New York for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The star India batter will likely link up with the squad before the only warm-up fixture, vs Bangladesh on June 1. It is understood that he will fly towards the end of the month.
“He will reach New York before the warm-up vs Bangladesh on June 1. Whether he plays or not in the warm-up will be management’s call – whether they feel there is enough gap between him landing and the warm-up fixture,” says a source close to developments.
The second batch of players left this morning and Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be joining the squad soon. Both Sanju and Avesh shared the update on their respective Instagram stories.
Hardik Pandya is understood to be reached directly from London. India’s premier all-rounder, Mumbai Indians, was on vacation after his IPL side crashed out in the league stages. He was scheduled to travel directly from London to New York.
