Taylor Swift has been invited to attend the US Open by Iga Swiatek – months after the singer sent the tennis star a handwritten letter the celebrate her French Open triumph.
Swiatek, a five-time major winner who is one of the favorites to win the title in New York over the next two weeks, is an avid Swift fan and was left tearful at Swift reaching out to her after she won the title in Paris earlier this year.
And now, in a video ahead of latest tournament starting in New York, Swiatek publicly invited Swift to come and see her in action.
‘Taylor Swift and Travis (Kelce). I want to invite Taylor Swift to come to the US Open and enjoy tennis and the show,’ Swiatek said.
And she jokingly added: ‘For sure I will be stressed when she comes to my match.’

Swiatek, the first seed, plays her first round match against unseeded Kamilla Rakhimova on Tuesday on Arthur Ashe.
Swift is currently in Rhode Island, which is less than 200 miles away from Flushing, New York where the tournament is held.
There, she reunited with boyfriend Kelce after the couple spent weeks apart due to his commitments with the Kansas City Chiefs and her Eras Tour dates.
In June, Swiatek revealed that Swift sent her congratulations on winning the French Open.
Sharing a picture of the letter she received and tears rolling down her face, Swiatek wrote on X after seeing her play in Liverpool: ‘I’m dead.
‘Yes, I cried many times during the show. Yes, it was incredible. You are amazing Taylor Swift.’
Travis, meanwhile, is gearing up the NFL season returning. His Kansas City Chiefs team plays Baltimore Ravens in the season opener on September 5.
