Competitors in the US Open will benefit from the largest purse in the history of tennis.
The USTA announced that the 2024 edition of the tournament will see $75million awarded to those who compete in the final grand slam event of the year.
The $75m prize pool is an increase of 15 percent from the previous year, when the total handed out was $65million.
Both the men’s and women’s singles champions will receive $3.6million for their victories, $600k more than the year prior.
‘Just as significant, all rounds in all events will see an increase from 2023,’ the USTA said in an official press release.

‘This is part of a deliberate and concerted effort in recent years by the US Open to ensure significant payouts for all players competing in the event.
‘These increases are seen both in the Main Draw and the Qualifying Tournament, with an emphasis placed on early round increases.
‘As a result, over the last five years, prize money for reaching the first round of the Main Draw Singles has increased by 72 percent – reaching $100,000 for the first time, and up 23 percent from 2023.
‘Prize money for the final round of Qualifying has also increased by 63 percent over that same time period to reach $52,000.’
With the Paralympic Games around the corner, no Wheelchair Tournament will take place at the US Open. As a result, the USTA has decided to hand out grants to players who would have been entered into the US Open via direct acceptance.
