This is Erica Stoll: Rory McIlroy’s wife

Erica Stoll excelled as a tennis player in high school. She attended the Rochester Institute of Technology where she graduated with a major in Marketing. The 37-year-old and McIlroy first connected in 2012 during the Ryder Cup. Stoll, working as a PGA transport official, met Mcllroy as she helped him get to his tee time on time as he overslept due to zone differences. Stoll got him a police escort and he was able to compete.

Their friendship blossomed into romance, leading to an engagement in 2015 and a wedding two years later. McIlroy and Stoll tied the knot at Ashford Castle in Ireland, surrounded by friends and family under incredible landscapes. In 2020 the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Poppy Kennedy.

In the meantime, there were many rumors about the reason behind the couple’s decision. Shortly after, court records in Palm Beach County, Florida, showed that a “notice of voluntary dismissal” was filed, and the case status is listed as “closed.”

The four-time major winner informed the Guardian: “There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
