Top five Giants players to watch during training camp 2024
Ahead of the start of training camp, The Post’s Paul Schwartz looks at the top five Giants players to watch:
Evan Neal, RT
A case can be made Neal is the key to the entire offensive line.
Is he a blatant draft bust, or can he finally show why he was the No. 7 overall pick in 2022?
The big guy is coming off ankle surgery, and the Giants need him to be a capable right tackle.
Cor’Dale Flott, CB
After 13 starts in his first two seasons, the skinny Flott gets a crack at a full-time role as a perimeter corner opposite Deonte Banks.
This can be considered a leap of faith by the coaching staff, and there are no obvious great options behind Flott.
Daniel Jones, QB
Entering his sixth training camp, Jones looked solid in the spring coming off ACL surgery, and the health and strength of his right knee will be a daily checklist item, noting how willing he is to take off and run.
Malik Nabers, WR
Impressive OTAs aside, the next proving ground for the dynamic rookie target comes when the pads come on.
Seeing Nabers maneuver against the veterans, especially in joint practices with the Lions and Jets (hello, Sauce Gardner), will be must-see viewing.
Eric Gray, RB
Saquon Barkley is gone, and more of a committee approach will be needed in the backfield.
Devin Singletary was signed as the lead back, but who is next in line?
Gray did next to nothing in his 2023 NFL debut season.
Either Gray or rookie fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy has to emerge as a contributor.
