Trump crudely talked about golf legend Arnold Palmer’s penis. Here’s how N.Y. Times sane-washed it

During a rally in swing-state Pennsylvania on Saturday night, Donald Trump discussed the size of golfing legend Arnold Palmer’s penis, drawing outrage for his crudeness from all corners of the nation.

Except the New York Times.

Michael Gold, a politics correspondent for the Times, described Trump’s crassness like this:

“Donald Trump opened his rally at the Arnold Palmer Airport in Latrobe, Pa., with a 10-minute monologue about the golfer for which the airport is named and who grew up here. In the most pivotal battleground state, with election day in just 17 days, the former president spent the entire opening telling Arnold Palmer golf stories before finally launching in on the border.”

The word “penis” doesn’t appear anywhere in the Times’ live blog of the Trump rally.

Here’s what actually happened:

“Arnold Palmer was all man and I say that in all due respect to women, and I love women, but this is a guy that was all man,” Trump said. “This man was strong and tough, and I refuse to say it, but when he took showers with the other pros, they came out of there and they said, ‘Oh, my God, that’s unbelievable.’”

By the way, Trump also referred to Kamala Harris as a “sh*t vice president.”

Gold reported that Trump “denigrated Vice President Kamala Harris with a profanity …”

Palmer’s resume is unparalleled. While many other golfing greats — like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods — won more tournaments and majors and earned more money on the course, Palmer is acknowledged as the immortal who grew the sport’s popularity.

With his reckless abandon play, go-for-it-all swing and his charisma, the television cameras loved him — and so did the growing masses who followed the game in the 1960s and ‘70s.

Palmer, who grew up in Latrobe, won 62 PGA tournaments (fifth all time), and assorted other titles from around the globe. He won four Masters titles, a U.S. Open championship and two British Opens.

But Trump wants you to remember that Palmer, who passed away in September 2016, had a big penis.

The New York Times, however, doesn’t want you to know that Trump did that.

Palmer died before Trump was elected president in 2016, but Palmer’s daughter Peg said that while her father appreciated Trump’s support of golf, Palmer was not a Trump supporter — not by a long shot.

“My dad didn’t like people who act like they’re better than other people,” she said. “He had no patience for people who are dishonest and cheat.

“My dad was disciplined. He wanted to be a good role model. He was appalled by Trump’s lack of civility and what he began to see as Trump’s lack of character. … What would my dad think of Donald Trump today? I think he’d cringe.”
