Turkish Airlines Unveils Lounge at New York JFK Terminal One
ISTANBUL- Turkish Airlines (TK) prepares to launch operations at New Terminal One (JFK) in 2026. The airline will introduce a cutting-edge lounge for premium passengers, signaling its expansion strategy at a key U.S. entry point.
New Terminal One, designed as the largest international terminal in the United States, promises advanced amenities and technological innovations to enhance passenger travel experience.
The terminal aims to deliver efficient and transformative passenger interactions through state-of-the-art infrastructure and customer-focused design.
Turkish Airlines New Lounge at JFK
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey plans a $19 billion JFK Airport transformation. The project includes two new terminals, modernization of existing facilities, a ground transportation center, and a redesigned roadway network.
Turkish Airlines (TK) will relocate operations to New Terminal One, maintaining its 19 weekly flights to Istanbul. The airline will establish a lounge that is 11,000 sq ft., double the size of its current Terminal 1 facility.
This expanded lounge will offer premium amenities, airport airfield views, and direct aircraft boarding access for business class and frequent flyer passengers. The strategic expansion supports Turkish Airlines’ commitment to enhanced passenger experience at a key U.S. gateway.
Turkish Airlines secured the World Class Award from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) for the fourth consecutive year. Only ten global airlines received this prestigious recognition.
Skytrax awarded the airline “Best Airline in Europe” nine times. The carrier consistently earns accolades for its Business and Economy Class services and lounges.
Turkish Airlines serves 351 destinations, including 25 in the Americas. As a Star Alliance member, the airline will co-locate at New Terminal One with alliance partners LOT Polish Airlines, EVA Air, and Air China.
New Terminal One CEO, Jennifer Aument, expressed enthusiasm about Turkish Airlines’ partnership, emphasizing aligned customer service goals. The terminal aims to provide an exceptional travel experience starting in 2026.
Turkish Airlines Chairman, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, highlighted the airline’s commitment to expanding its U.S. market presence through the new state-of-the-art lounge.
New Terminal One has established partnerships with multiple global carriers, including Air France (AF), KLM (KL), Etihad (EY), LOT Polish Airlines (LO), Korean Air (KE), EVA Air (BR), Air Serbia (JU), SAS (SK), Neos (NO), Philippine Airlines (PR), and Air China (CA).
These strategic collaborations focus on enhancing international passenger experiences at JFK Airport.
JFK New Terminal One
New Terminal One at JFK Airport represents a critical infrastructure development in the Port Authority’s $19 billion airport transformation project. The terminal aims to achieve a Top 5 Skytrax ranking as a world-class international gateway.
Construction will occur on sites currently occupied by Terminals 1, 2, and 3, anchoring JFK’s south side. The first phase, including 14 new gates, will open in 2026, with full completion expected by 2030. The terminal will span 2.6 million square feet, becoming the largest at JFK Airport.
The facility will feature 23 international-only gates with sustainable design and advanced technology. Expansive, naturally lit spaces will prioritize enhanced passenger experiences.
The terminal will compete with top-rated global airport terminals through innovative amenities and design. A consortium led by Ferrovial, JLC Infrastructure, Ullico, and Carlyle will develop the project.
The terminal commits to local inclusion, with participation goals including 30% minority and women-owned enterprises, 10% local business enterprises, and 3% service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. Union labor will construct the terminal, emphasizing community and workforce development.
