Panama’s national airline, Copa Airlines, recently commemorated 20 years of continuous flights to New York City. This milestone was celebrated in conjunction with JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), highlighting its longstanding presence in one of its key U.S. destinations.
The airline initiated its New York operations on June 17, 2004, and has now reached the two-decade mark. Operating out of JFK’s Terminal 4, Copa Airlines offers three daily flights from Tocumen International Airport in Panama City. This connectivity enables passengers to reach 85 destinations across 32 countries via its extensive network.
New York City, a melting pot of various cultures, hosts a substantial Latin American community, positioning Copa Airlines as a crucial link to this vibrant and expanding demographic.
Regarding its U.S. operations, Copa Airlines has been dynamically expanding its reach based on passenger demand. The airline recently inaugurated a direct flight to Raleigh-Durham International Airport, increasing its U.S. footprint to 16 destinations. Additionally, it has enhanced its service to Tampa, Florida, upgrading from six weekly flights to a daily schedule.
