Tyrone Tracy Jr. nominated for Rookie of the Week

Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for his performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 14.

This marks Tracy’s fifth nomination this season. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers has also been nominated four times.

The 25-year-old back ran for 45 yards and a touchdown while adding five receptions for an additional 38 yards. It marked the fifth time the rookie has found the end zone over the last eight games.

The first-year back has seen his usage in the passing game increase in recent weeks, with 28 or more receiving yards in each of the last three games and a total of 11 receptions for 99 yards during that span.

Tracy ranks second among all rookies with 664 rushing yards on the season, trailing only Tampa Bay’s Bucky Irving (735 yards), while his five rushing touchdowns is third among rookies behind Irving and Washington’s Jayden Daniels. He is averaging 4.7 yards per carry this season while also catching 29 passes for 216 yards. Tracy’s 880 total yards from scrimmage ranks fourth among the rookie class.

The other players nominated for the Week 14 Pepsi Rookie of the Week include:

  • Bears QB Caleb Williams – Completed 17 of 23 passes (73.9 percent) for 134 yards and two touchdowns for49e a 116.9 passer rating
  • 49ers RB Isaac Guerendo – Totaled 128 scrimmage yards (78 rushing, 50 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns
  • Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan – Caught two passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns
  • Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. – Caught six passes for 86 yards
  • Seahawks LB Tyrice Knight – Finished with 12 total tackles and two passes defensed

Fans vote for one of six players on NFL.com/rookies, @NFL on Twitter, and on the NFL Mobile app. After the regular season, six players will be nominated for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Years honor. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January.
