World No. 1 Iga Swaitek is no stranger to winning  in New York, and will be adamant on taking home her sixth career Grand Slam.

Defending champion Coco Gauff, who has not played her best tennis this year, returns to the site of her maiden Grand Slam in search of the form that brought her to stardom 12 months ago.

Olympic Gold Medalist Qinwen Zheng will also be one to watch throughout the fortnight. The Chinese star became on overnight sensation after striking gold in Paris.
