Warriors star Stephen Curry in New York for annual golf Curry Cup | Sporting News

Stephen Curry is enjoying his time off before the upcoming NBA season and is in New York City getting ready for the Underrated Gold Curry Cup.

The Golden State Warriors superstar launched Underrated Gold in 2022 for underprivileged junior golfers. Now in its third season, the level of competition is rising.

The 26 best boys and girls on Curry’s tour will compete this week for the championship. The sharpshooter is looking forward to this event, which follows last year’s huge success in San Francisco.

“There is obviously a lot of great energy around the tour, a lot of great talent, and a lot of great support from our partners who believe in our vision and leadership,” said Curry.

The all-time leader in NBA three-pointers made is not just a phenomenal basketball player but is also excellent on the golf course. He won the 2023 American Century Open, is a scratch golfer, and recently made a hole-in-one.

There is not much that Steph Curry does not do well, and giving back to the community is another part of his work at which he excels. Last year, the PGA rewarded him with the Ambassador of Golf award, given to “someone who fosters the ideals of the game and whose concern for others extends beyond the golf course.”

“Just being in a space where we can continue to service these kids at a very high level and give them the experience that they deserve,” said Curry on what stands out for Underrated Golf.

After signing a new contract with the Warriors, he can now relax, watch and play some golf, and continue to prepare for another NBA season.
