In a heartwarming yet disappointing tale, a dedicated Pakistani fan sold his tractor for $3,000 to attend the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 match in New York.

The clash, held on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, ended in a nail-biting finish with India winning by just 6 runs.

The fans, deeply invested in witnessing the marquee clash, expressed disappointment after Pakistan’s narrow defeat. Despite Pakistan being in a strong position for most of the game, they faltered in the final overs, unable to chase a modest target of 120.

Naseem Shah’s valiant effort in the last over, hitting two fours off Arshdeep Singh, was not enough to secure a win. Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 31 runs off 44 balls, faced criticism for his dismissal by Jasprit Bumrah.

The passionate supporter also attended India’s match against the USA on June 12, where he witnessed Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant performance. Yadav scored an unbeaten 50 off 49 balls, leading India to a comfortable victory by 7 wickets.

India’s win against the USA ensured their spot in the Super 8, remaining unbeaten in their group. They are scheduled to play their final Group A match against Canada on June 15.

Pakistan still have a chance to qualify for the Super 8 after a convincing 7-wicket victory over Canada. Their fate will be decided in their final group match against Ireland on June 16 in Florida.
