What Can We Expect From New York Knicks in New NBA Season | Fingerlakes1.com

Since the last season marked the best one since the start of the 21st century, New York Knicks fans are coming into the new NBA season with something they haven’t included in previous years – hope. Hope that their team can step up and bring them the joy of achieving the latter stages and maybe, just maybe, pulling off an incredible upset. The previous season in which they won 50 games certainly gives them the right to think so. It seems that the Knicks finally look like a team, with players worthy of a call for an All-Star game, like Jalen Brunson. Therefore, every fan’s question is – what can we expect from New York in the new season?

Thibodeau’s Team Looks Good

Last season’s success is still a talking point in and around Madison Square Garden. Their efforts were rewarded by reaching the Conference Semifinals with the Indiana Pacers, which they lost in a close encounter after seven games. That was a result that every fan would agree to before the previous season started, considering that leading sites like Deadspin hadn’t considered them capable of achieving such a result. Congratulations should go to the team, but also to head coach Tom Thibodeau who managed to create a cohesive and hard-working group of athletes. The core of the group is the Villanova Wildcats players, as, besides the All-Star Jalen Brunson, the Knicks brought in Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges. All of them were playing at Villanova University, together at some point, and they transferred their good chemistry and coherence to New York.

The Team Got Stronger Over the Summer

Fans are always overjoyed when the management follows through with the upgrades on the team after a good season. And that is exactly what happened with the New York Knicks over the summer which will hopefully give them a good start recording a win, much like the Yankees did against Guardians. One of the biggest shocks on the summer market was the trade which brought Karl-Anthony Towns to their team! Another All-Star player will make the predicted starting lineup look like this: Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and already mentioned, Karl-Anthony Towns. The team is profiting from great decisions from last season when they made a solid mid-season trade for OG Anunoby.

It seems that the number six in the team will be Miles McBride, as even though he is defensively weaker he has a great hand for that three-point shooting. The second option for the center position can be Precious Achiuwa, but considering that both he and Towns can cover positions four and five, they can even play together in some combinations. Landry Shamet got serious minutes in two preseason games, and he could be the option to rest Anunoby, or even push him to the position of the four. It looks like with these serious bench options, Thibodeau will have an eight or nine-man rotation, which could be disturbed only by Tyler Kolek’s notable performances in preseason. The 34th draft pick could sneak into the team.

Conclusion

With a clearer perspective on the starting lineup with the amazing trade of Karl-Anthony Towns, it seems that New York will have some of the best starting five in the new NBA season. With a great result from the previous season, this can help the Knicks to finally challenge for the top place in the league. Good work by the head coach and the management, combined with a great display of the team from the past season and in the two preseason games, gives the fans hope that they will enjoy their basketball next season!
