The Knicks outpaced Indiana for a 121-117 win in Game 1 on Monday at Madison Square Garden. Jalen Brunson rained 43 points down on Indiana, backed up by another 25 from Donte DiVincenzo. Josh Hart added 23 of his own, and grabbed 13 boards for the double-double.
The Pacers led by two points with just 90 seconds left, but the Knicks rallied to score eight of the final ten points and secure the win. Indiana’s bench outscored New York’s 46-3, but it wasn’t enough to handle the dominant performance from the Knicks starters. Brunson now has four consecutive postseason games scoring 40 points or more.
New York will try to stay in front during Game 2, and shore up its lead at MSG before the conference semifinal series flips to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Friday.
