What Josh Hart did to Charlotte Hornets bench seriously impressed former New York Knicks player, ‘no better feeling’
A complete performance from the New York Knicks dominated the Charlotte Hornets at Madison Square Garden.
Tom Thibodeau’s team put up a 38-16 third quarter to kill the game off as the New York Knicks beat the Hornets 125-101.
Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson all scored above 24 points, while Mikael Bridges added 19 and Josh Hart 18.
It was Josh Hart’s contribution which caught the eye, with the 29-year-old going 4-6 on threes, making the Hornets pay for giving him too much space.
Josh Hart pointed at Hornets bench
Josh Hart’s scoring streak was key in the Knicks running up the score on the Hornets, who were once again without LaMelo Ball, and it was noted how the visiting team made an unfortunate error.
Former Knicks player Wally Szczerbiak was analyzing the game for MSG Network, and he observed: “They weren’t guarding him, they were daring him to shoot.”
Szczerbiak then spotted how Hart began pointing at the Hornets bench as he celebrated his buckets.
He said: “He’s pointing at the bench too. He’s like, all right, you’re going to leave me open. I’m going to make you pay, and boy, did he make him pay.
“Pointing at the bench, you got to love that, because when you know the scouting report is a team daring you to shoot and trying to challenge you and get in your head by leaving you wide open, and then you start nailing threes, there is no better feeling.”
He added: “Josh Hart was letting that bench, and that coaching staff over at the Charlotte know ‘I’m not gonna let that fly tonight’”.
Josh Hart’s fourth best scoring game of the season
Josh Hart’s 18 points were above his season average which now stands on 13.9 ppg. It was his fourth highest contribution in 2024-25.
