Where to watch Cavs vs. Knicks NBA FREE STREAM today

NEW YORK – After three convincing victories, the Cleveland vision is firing on all cylinders as the Cavs face the New York Knicks today – Monday, Oct. 28 – at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The NBA matchup is available to watch on multiple streaming services for free.

This game will be broadcast live on FanDuel Sports Network Ohio (formerly Bally Sports Ohio) and MSG with tipoff at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. Fans who have parted ways with their cable provider can catch the game at no cost by taking advantage of streaming alternatives like DirecTV Stream, which offers a free trial. FuboTV is also offering a free trial and $20 off your first month through Oct. 31.

The Kenny Atkinson Era is off to a perfect start as the Cavs (3-0) have won each of their first three matchups by 10 or more points. They sit tied atop the Eastern Conference with the defending NBA Champion Boston Celtics (3-0).

There is reason to pump the brakes after the lopsided sample size. The victories over the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards come against teams with a combined 1-7 record entering Oct. 28. Interestingly, the Celtics also have defeated nearly the same opponents at a 1-7 combined record.

In an offensive clinic, the Cavs are averaging six players in double digits to start the season.

Power forward Evan Mobley’s potential has been at the top of the storylines for the Cavs. He is averaging 18.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 48.7% from the field. Mobley will be tested with the defensive prowess of OG Anunoby.

Franchise centerpiece Donovan Mitchell appears ready to take a backseat to the maturing star, if needed. He is averaging 23.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 49.1% from the field.

Cleveland‘s defense is fourth in defensive rating. Despite speeding up their tempo from last year’s methodical unit, they have preserved their calling card thus far. Cleveland has been slightly out rebounded in two of their three games. The Knicks led the league in rebounding last season.

In the three triumphs, the Cavs have been potent from beyond the arc, tallying 43.7%, which is second in the NBA. The Celtics hold down the top spot with a 44.2% clip.

The bench has been just as impactful, including two pieces with a dazzling shooting percentage. One is familiar, one is not.

The veteran presence of Caris LeVert is putting in 12.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 75% from the field, which is sixth-best in the league. Emerging backup point guard Ty Jerome is averaging 13.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 73.7% from the field, which is the seventh-best percentage in the NBA.

With just three games under their belt, statistics can be an appetizer of what is on the horizon, or a misleading trend. Cleveland’s up-tempo style blended with their trademark defense can become a monster if they can tune it into mid-season form. The flashes are promising.

The ghosts of 2023‘s haunting playoff experience still linger around when these two teams get together. Expect an intense contest at the Mecca of Basketball. It won’t be April, but it also won’t feel like October.

The Knicks (1-1) were blasted by the Celtics on opening night, but rebounded nicely with a strong defensive performance against a high-powered Indiana Pacers team that knocked them out of the conference semifinals last year.

New York’s rugged defense held the Pacers to just 3-for-30 from beyond the arc.

The Knicks are an emerging threat from deep, converting 40.4% of their shots, which is right behind the Cavs for third-best in the NBA.

Jalen Brunson remains New York’s biggest scoring threat, averaging 24.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 57.6% from the field.

Karl-Anthony Towns will test Jarrett Allen’s skills away from the basket. Towns is averaging 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 50% from the field.

The Brunson-Towns experiment is still in its infancy.

New York defeated the Cavs in two of three regular season matchups last season. Both teams dodged each other in the playoffs.
