Will Levis vows revenge against prank caller from infamous NFL draft slide: ‘I’ll find them’
Will Levis kept the digital receipt.
During a recent appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, the second-year Titans quarterback revealed he saved the phone number of a person who prank-called him at the end of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, where he experienced his infamous slide to round two in the green room.
“I was waiting on maybe a phone call and I think at pick [No.] 29, I get a phone call from somebody. It was a prank call from somebody,” the 25-year-old Levis said on Will Compton and Taylor Lewan’s show.
“… Random number. I still have the number saved. I’ll find them someday.”
Levis went on to explain how the caller just “snickered and hung up” the phone.
“I literally got off the phone and I said, ‘Let’s go guys,’” the former Kentucky star said.
The Titans traded up to acquire the No. 33 pick and select Levis in the second round of last year’s draft, which took place in Kansas City.
Cameras captured Levis waiting for that fateful phone call in the green room with family and his then-girlfriend, Gia Duddy, who shot to instant fame over the draft coverage cameos.
He and Duddy have since split, and Levis is currently dating “Bachelor” alum Victoria Fuller.
“There was one point where, I brought cards, they didn’t want to film that. I don’t know why,” Levis recalled. “… [When he didn’t get picked in the first round] we were like, ‘Yeah let’s pack this show up and go back to the hotel.’
“I think there was a rack of Shake Shack burgers waiting for us. It was supposed to be celebratory. I think I had four of them and went to bed. Pissed off, eating,” he said, laughing.
He did not attend the second round in person.
Through nine games last season, Levis threw for 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions.
He shined in the Titans’ preseason finale, playing two solid drives in a 30-27 win against the Saints on Sunday.
Levis completed 7 of 8 passes for 118 yards and a passer rating of 118.8.
The Titans finished the preseason with a 3-0 record.
Levis, tasked with controlling the offense after back-to-back losing seasons in Tennessee, will open his sophomore year in the NFL on the road against the Bears on Sept. 8.
