Yankees emerge as favorites in Jack Flaherty sweepstakes
Jack Flaherty is widely known to be available ahead of Tuesday’s 6 p.m. ET MLB trade deadline, with multiple suitors vying for his services.
The Post’s Jon Heyman and Joel Sherman reported Monday that the Tigers scratched Flaherty from his start that day to ensure he’s healthy ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, with several teams expected to be suitors, including the Yankees, Dodgers, and Braves, among many others.
The price is expected to be robust and could go right up to the deadline as teams negotiate.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Yankees have emerged as the clear favorites to land Flaherty, coming in at +100, followed closely by “any team” not listed (+350) in the oddsboard below.
Flaherty has also been linked to the Astros (+400) and Dodgers (+450), although the Astros might be reluctant to part with prospects after paying a hefty price for pitcher Yusei Kikuchi on Monday.
The Braves, who have also been busy, are the fifth-favorite to land Flaherty after having just absorbed the hefty salaries of Jorge Soler and Luke Jackson.
