Yankees interested in Blake Snell ahead of MLB trade deadline after offseason pursuit

The Yankees pursued Blake Snell during the offseason.

As they attempt to bulk up for a playoff run, they’re in on him again.

The Yankees are among six teams that have checked in on the Giants’ left-hander ahead of Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported Sunday morning.

This comes after the Yanks acquired outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Marlins on Saturday.

The aggressive Padres, Snell’s team the previous three seasons, are also among the six teams interested in the reigning NL Cy Young winner, Heyman reports.

Snell, 31, has been limited to 10 starts this season due to injuries, most recently a groin strain, but he has pitched well in four starts this month, punctuated by a 15-strikeout gem on Saturday against the Rockies in which he pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks.

While Snell has a 5.10 ERA for the season, he’s given up just two runs in 24 innings across his four July starts with 30 strikeouts.

After a long free agency that stretched into mid-March, Snell signed with San Francisco on a two-year, $62 million contract that he can opt out of after this season.

The Yankees’ rotation has been rocky since its early-season dominance.

Nestor Cortes has struggled as of late, failing to make it through five innings in each of his last three starts and four of his last five; he’s allowed 15 runs over his last three outings.

Marcus Stroman has a 5.28 ERA over his last nine starts.

Carlos Rodon, who pitches Sunday night against the Red Sox, is coming off a very strong outing against the Rays on Monday, but that followed a six-start stretch in which he had a 9.67 ERA.

And Gerrit Cole, after a pair of strong performances, got clobbered by the Mets on Wednesday.

The Giants (52-55) have underachieved but are 4.5 games out of the final NL wild-card spot.
